PRIMARY DUTY:
The Report Analyst is responsible for designing, building and testing reports based on user specifications. The Report Analyst is responsible for validating data within reports, creating new custom reports and dashboards or modifying existing reports and dashboards as necessary. The Report Analyst is responsible for supporting the report writing needs of managers in other departments and executives. The Report Analyst will work closely with Data Analysts in Institutional Research to gather requirements and ensure proper testing and validation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.Interprets end-user needs to develop new reports and dashboards

2.Collaborates with end-users and Data Analysts to understand reporting requirements

3.Creates or modifies custom reports to solve data and analysis needs

4.Reviews data integrity on reports

5.Documents processes

6.Understands key performance measures and indicators that drive reporting and analytics across multiple data sources such as Academics, Finance, HR, Advancement, etc.

7.Utilizes recommended templates, standards, and methodologies in data collection and reporting

8.Creates and manages dashboards and works closely with Information Technology to modify data warehouse

9.Participates in professional development activities as available and as appropriate

10.Serves on internal/external committees as assigned

11.Develops and nurtures positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders

12.Promotes the mission, vision, and values of Northwest in all activities

13.Performs other duties as assigned, including but not limited to functioning as operational backup for Institutional Research Office

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Data Sciences or related field
Experience: One year of relational database query and report design or equivalent course work
Skills: Familiarity with relational database design including multi-table query design and report design; familiarity with common database interface applications (i.e. SQL, Oracle, Microsoft Access); familiarity with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint; ability to think critically; attention to detail and accuracy; ability to meet deadlines; ability to work independently and as a dependable team member
