Hey Chris,
I have been developing in FOCUS / WebFOCUS for 15 Years and am keen to do some travelling.

I am a British Passport holder and living in South Africa.

What are the chances of working in the USA.

Thanks

Geluk my maatjie!
Wayne, I am a Canadian who lived in Kempton Park TVL SA from 1972- 1993. I now work in Boston. I do not want to disappoint you BUT here is what you must do to work here.
First off you will require what the American's call an H1B Visa (which is a person with unusual skills). Applications open tomorrow for 2012 and normally close the same day due to the fact that that amount of applications for the available visas allocated to each respective country have been exceeded.
Further while Canadians can apply for a 1 year work permit under the free trade agreement, you folks cannot.

I completly agree with Stefaans.

H1B Quota doesn't get filled up in 1 day. It usually takes about 3 - 6 months. (atleast from past 2 years).

There are lot of US based companies who are willing to Sponser H1B visa. Just go to any job Search portal and you should be able to find companies and call them up to find out what's their procedure.

Regards
Bob
