The Enterprise Software Solutions (ESS) Enterprise Application Administrator is responsible for participating in the selection, installation, upgrade, and support of enterprise applications such as, but not limited to, PeopleSoft, WebFocus, OnBase, and Hyperion. In addition to the planning and implementation responsibilities, the EA Administrator is responsible for performing basic application management functions and coordinating maintenance and support of the underlying storage, server, networking, and database environments with the Infrastructure Operations team. The Enterprise Application Administrator also provides Tier 3 support to Infrastructure Operations staff and acts as the primary contact for enterprise applications hardware and software vendors for escalations. The enterprise application environment includes the suite of applications, hardware, policies, and procedures that support the Center’s administrative activities. The Enterprise Application Administrator reports to the Enterprise Application Manager.

Responsibilities

Application Management:
•Create and maintain technology road-map for the technical environment(s)
•Actively participate on project teams and interact with customers to understand and meet business requirements
•Monitor usage trends and plan for increased capacity and functionality
•Recommend, test, and implement application designs and features and facilitate review/approval with stakeholders
•Draft, secure approval, and implement technical policies and procedures needed to meet user needs and protect the integrity of the systems and data
•Provide Tier III support to the Infrastructure Operations team and customers – including on call support
•Develop and report metrics for availability, capacity, and utilization
•Brief leadership and stakeholders on technology issues, project status, and future plans
•Actively participate in discussions with Center IT Architects on Enterprise Application and other topics
•Keep abreast of new technologies, products, and services via research, training, and participation in conferences or user groups

Specific Operational and Project Tasks:
•Apply patches, bundles, and tax updates
•Perform application upgrades
•Perform production migrations and production support
•Backup and restore environments
•Set-up, monitor, and troubleshoot batch processes
•Administrate security

General:
•Understand and support Center IT's project management methodology
•Provide technical leadership within project teams
•Develop a basic understanding of the Center’s grants and research and how it relies on IT systems and services
•Support Center IT’s process improvement efforts as needed
•Accurately record time in Center IT’s time tracking system (Replicon)

Qualifications
•BA/BS in IS, CS, CIS or equivalent combination of education/experience.
•3+ years of experience installing, managing, and troubleshooting enterprise applications including Hyperion, WebFocus, Onbase, or related applications.
•Proficiency with building, managing, and troubleshooting SQL server environments.
•Demonstrated ability to create and execute application selection, implementation, testing, and deployment plans.
•Strong written and in-person communication with technical and business stakeholders.
•Experience in a university or research environment is preferred.
