he client is looking for a contractor who specializes in data extractions from SAP financial modules for use in a SQL Server data warehouse. Experience with OLAP tools is also required.
They are experiencing a backlog of requests in the area of report development using data sourced primarily from SAP R/3. Specifically, these are custom reports to meet business requirements not provided by standard R/3 reporting features. Data is extracted from R/3 using various techniques, stored in a SQL Server database and reports are developed using WebFOCUS. They are considering adding a resource to assist with some of the more complex aspects of this work; more data analysis and SQL development work as opposed to simply report development.
Primary Competencies:
** In depth knowledge of data warehousing concepts utilizing the principles of a Star Schema
** 5+ years experience with T-SQL (SQL Server 7.0/2000/2005) in creating complex queries, joins, and views
** 2+ years experience with SQL Server DTS
** 1+ year experience with SQL Server 2005 Business Development Intelligence Studio (Integration Services)
** 5+ years experience in data analysis of relational database objects (tables and views).
** An understanding SAP R/3 data and tables.
Optional Competencies:
** 2+ years experience with IBI (Information Builders Inc) WebFOCUS 7.1.1 ** 7.6.4 Developers Studio in creating reporting objects
** 2+ years experience with HTML and Java
** 2+ years experience with IBI (Information Builders Inc) IWay 5.5 tools (Data Management ETL tool) utilizing the IWay SAP Adapter to extract data.
