[CASE OPENED] Data Migrator not retaining SCC settings
Hi Everyone, I am running into an issue with an install of DMC release 82 64bit VC11 and Source Control. We have successfully configured Team foundation server for a few of our users running DMC, but have one user that loses their SCC provider information every time they restart DMC. Before removing and reinstalling I wanted to see if anyone else has encountered this issue, and how it was resolved.

Could you please provide more information describing the problem?
What are the steps this user follow?
If one attempt to configure the Source Control works, then does he proceed with the Test and with the further steps, such as assigning the application directory to a project, etc.? If yes, then can he perform complete set of the source control operations at least for one file: check in, check out, edit, check in?

Hi Marina, There is a section in DMC labeled SCC Provider after you click on the "Configure Source Control" button. We will configure the user to have the SCC Provider set as "Team Foundation Server" and it will work just fine until they close DMC and reopen. The user will no longer have the SCC provider set as Team Foundation Server and will need to reconfigure everything. This is only happening on the one machine all other machines retain the settings.

Sorry about the delayed response. To resolve this problem we will need to look at that user's environment. Could you please open a hottrack case and attach to the case the user's basic diagnostics files? The best way of collecting this diagnostics will be as following. On DMC, select Options, Traces, checkmark the Enable for the traces. Start configuring and working (minimally) with TFS.
Then 'save diagnostics' and attach to the hottrack case.
Thanks.
