Can somebody tell in detail about connection pooling, and how is it implemented. As far as the information which I gathered, its a concept / term used to make sure the connection is kept alive from the first time the connection to database was established. No individual connection required everytime.

Adaptor concept and setup which we use to create connection to database.. is this an example of the connection pooling.

Please share your individual experience and best practice.
