Hello everybody. We are currently looking at the demo version of DataMigrator for our ETL purposes(for Windows). Basically, we want to

1. read in tab (or comma) delimited flat files,
   
2. convert them to fixed width,
   
3. send them to an internally created command line program that does some basic validation
   
4. then we want to do some joins,
   
5. create new columns,
   
6. conduct complex validations and
   
7. then save to Unicode fixed width files.
   

• Is this doable in DM?
  
• How does DM stack up against Data Integrator from Business Objects?
  
• Are there any pros and cons to using DM?
  

We use DM extensively. I believe it will do all you are looking to do. I do not have experience with everything you are asking but I don't see any problems. It would be interesting to see your findings after you finish your evaluation.

Did you ever complete your evaluation? I would like to know your findings if you don't mind sharing.

Are there any downloadable or online courses for learning the iWay DataMigrator? Our schedules preclude attending classes for the foreseeable future.
