I have a field that is D17.16. I have two transforms

DEFINE DOM_FTE/D17.16=IF FEE_TYPE EQ 'Domestic' THEN FTE ELSE 0; $
DEFINE INTL_FTE/D17.16=IF FEE_TYPE EQ 'International' THEN FTE ELSE 0; $

When run the process, instead of showing the data, I'm getting *********** values in my table. The data itself is more like D4.16, as there are results of calculations that have long repeating numbers. (Like 1/3). What am I doing wrong?

D format has a max of 15 significant digits. Try P format, it goes to 32 or 33 significant digits.

I think D format should work, but D17.16 will not work as the 17 is the total number of characters

Dt[.s] where:

t
Is the number of characters to display up to a maximum of 33, including the numeric digits, an optional decimal point, and a leading minus sign if the field contains a negative value. The number of significant digits supported varies with the operating environment.

s
Is the number of digits that follow the decimal point. 31 and must be less than t.

So you should try D33.16

Martin.
