Our company is trying to upgrade to iway 6.1 from iway 5.5 and when we try to upgrade a good amount of our processes dont work

NOTE: during installation of iway 6.1 we only installed what was recommended, nothing additional

My question is

how can we make this transition smoothly and have all of our old processes still run with out errors and having to go through and correct a lot of the processes?

did anyone else go through a simialar situation and how did you solve it?

lastly

is there any adapter or software that could help this so it could be a smooth transition?

THanks so much for your help!! This has been very difficult to figure out!

Hi Charles,
Our upgrade project from 5.5 to 6.0.1 is now 2 years old, and we haven't finished yet.

There are any number of gotchas between our versions, I can't comment on 6.1 as we're not there yet (maybe in another 2 years!).

My point is, you're asking the forum for an answer that could takes months to explain. Maybe you'll get some answers from tech support in reply to this post, but my advice would be to look into getting some IB consultants on site to help with the initial stuff, and maybe you can then take it on yourself when you're happier.

Do you have a lot of code to migrate?
Are you going white screen to white screen? Or is there blue screen code in the mix?
Have you done 6.1 training? That would help highlight to you some of the differences between versions.
Are you prepared for the time and effort required to upgrade and regression test all of your applcations?

Sorry, but there is no simple answer that I know of - I'd be very happy to hear it if there is though! Good luck with the journey.

I know it sounds like I'm trying to sell you consulting and/or training, but I don't work for IB, honest!

(Although I'd be happy to accept a commission from them!)
