WebFOCUS requires an SQL client to be installed with the WebfOCUS server.

If you have 2008 r2 installed, then the "client" will be there too.

The error message says that "login failed for user jupter'

This could be caused by the security that is set on your sql server vs the security you have set up on your reporting server.

Try setting the security to the sql connection to explicit and enter a user id and password that you know works. Then click the test button. If you get a successfull connection then you know the adapter is Ok. If you don't you can investigate further based on the information returned.
