[SOLVED] how to avoid putting db2 tablespace in pending status after load

We have a set of DB2 tables that are cleared and loaded every day. They do not have primary keys. At the time the flows were created, the idea was this would speed the loads. The tablespaces of these DB2 tables go into a Pending status after the loads, currently. A backup jobs clears the status.

We would like to avoid the pending status on the loads. We have tried various load options and the only one -- without altering the table structure -- that doesn't put the tables in pending status is the Bulk Load via Flat File. However, this option isn't perfect either, as certain messages about 'empty fields in non-nullable columns' are presented as warnings but do not abend the process, and the table goes unloaded.

Has anyone had experience with this?

Build a stored proc with:

SQL DB2 SET FASTLOAD_OPTION NONRECOVERABLE

And call before the data load.

Thanks. Would that be an RPC in the Process Flow of the flow itself? Is the scope limited to this particular flow or does it affect the entire database? I do not want to run afoul with our DBA group.

Yes.

Yes, and any subflow that is executed as "RPC".

Thank you for the insights. I'll run it by our DBA's and see how quickly they shoot it down if they approve.

New here. The status of this thread can be Solved and/or Closed now.
