Installation notes states that the
recommended release is Java 1.7_51 for Version 7.0.3 Service Manager.

That Version was released October 14, 2014.

Question- Are the installation notes current and is Java 1.7_51 still the recommended version for Version 7.0.3 Service Manager?

Just sharing the response from support.

We will load with 1.8.0_31 and test it out.

Hi David,

Indeed, Java 1.7_51 is the minimum recommended version. Below this version
you will encounter issues. Higher versions of 1.7_51 are fine, such as _75.
No testing has been done for Java 1.8 yet, although I am using on
my machine 1.8.0_31 without problems.
