EndreMeasure Property
Is there a way to provide Measure description - business meta data - (what business area it is from, how it is calculated, typed free format info, etc) when clicking on Measure and selecting Measure Property?
.
As a default now, we feel that the Measure Property window shows more of a PMF Admin level info about the measure, rather than business meta information. The current information is good, we just want to add more descriptive information to it.
.
Any suggestion how we could implement something like that?
thank you,

There are two large text fields to hold this data. The information needs to be entered in the Measure panel. The measure properties display it.
- Measure description is a 1K field that contains business rationale for the measure - what it means, how it should be interpreted and used.
- Measure formula is a 1K field that contains the technical information about the measure - what data it was loaded from, the formula used to calculate it, how frequently it is loaded.
This information is in the PMF documentation as well.
thanks

SethWI realize that there is a large blob field to enter in this information.
Is there a way to format the text in this blob field as line returns seem not to hold making the information displayed less easy to read.

Bob Jude FerranteIt's actually a large text field.
It does accept newlines. Depending on how you're reporting them, they might be getting absorbed. The newlines do appear in the measure properties report. Remember you're running Unix at NYU, so CR entered in Windows would need to be CR/LF on Unix to give a line of space. You'll just see a line break. The trick if you want blank lines on Unix is to type in TWO lines...
