Date Format in PMF

It appears that PMF requires a date format HYYMDS to connect a data extract to the Time dimension. Our standard date format is YYMD in all our existing data files.

Is the HYYMDS a fixed date format within PMF or can it be changed within a preference area to YYMD.

Thank you.

Dates must be stored aa HYYMDs, however you can convert them from YYMD using WebFOCUS date conversion functionality as follows.

This is assuming you have chosen "measure date determines time dimension" in the loader. When you select this option, the date is converted from a real date to coordinates in the time dimension. Note that PMF V5 no longer troubles to have you store the real date in the old MEASURE_DATE field, so if that's what you're asking about, you actually don't need to worry about it any more.

Set the field map to Code in the dropdown.

For the code, use:

MEASURE_DATE/HYYMDs = HDTTM([your date field], 8, MEASURE_DATE);

thanks
