Hi ,

My customer is in the process of developing an EDW with Teradata.

Can the PMF data model be supported with Teradata in the current release?

Environment

WF Version 7702
Windows x86_64 64bit
Adapters Oracle, JDBC, MSSQL , DB2, Teradata

Teradata support for the PMF data mart has been completed in our lab, and given nominal testing, but isn't yet publicly released or certified.

Note that the 523HF3 installer doesn't display Teradata as a selection for the data mart; it would require a manual installation and configuration for Teradata support process.

And a caution: as with anything new, working w/Teradata at this time would require a customer who wants to partner and who would be willing to tolerate a hiccup or two while we work out the kinks together. That will change in 5.3 production, in the Fall, as that will be certified with Teradata.

If they're looking for rock-solid operation now with no agita and aren't that "partnership" minded, the question then is where is their mart stored currently? With PMF and WebFOCUS you can get data from Teradata over the adaptor, but you don't have to house the mart also in Teradata.
