Ok, PMF Team:
I have a user that likes the look a very simple strategy map BUT the functionality they want works very well (already running) in a strat map with compound objectives and weighted roll-ups. They don't want to see the compound objectives and arrows: "too busy" and different than what they have now.
Is there a way run 'Operational Reports' from a simple strat map objective but use the obj/meas/weighted roll-ups from another strat map behind the scene.
I tried setting the &SCORECARD_ID in the operational report but PMF checks for objectives connected to the current strat map before my report runs and finds no records.

Any help will be most appreciated!

Thanks.

Greg

&SCORECARD_ID will be a high level filter on metrics.

You can create a second scorecard cloned from the first, using the cascade function and then removing the parent on the new one.

Then change the strategy map on the new one.

Thanks, Bob.
I'm not sure I'm getting all of this, yet.

I've set &SCORECARD_ID but to no effect.

Is there a way to have PMF use an alternate scorecard for retrieving information while looking at another scorecard for the user-preferred strategy map?

Thanks again for all your help.

No. The SCORECARD_ID variable is a top level filter. It can't be used just to display a different strategy map. It will filter EVERYTHING - all metrics in the system.

You can, however, clone the scorecard with the New Scorecard/Cascade parent function and EDIT the strategy map IN THE CLONE for that one user to make it the way he/she likes, and have them be the only user of that changed one so nobody else gets confused. The clone will have the same objectives and the same metric linkages.

Hope that makes it clearer.

I finally got back to implementing this concept.

Yes, Bob, what you say makes sense and I put it in place.

When I run an operational report from an objective on the new strategy map (which has a linked and weighted measures) the report fails because it is using the new SCORECARD_ID even though I explicitly do -SET &SCORECARD_ID to the original one before executing pmf_booket_data.

How can I get pmf_booklet_data to use an alternative SCORECARD_ID and not the one that I'm viewing when I click on the objective oval?

Thanks.
