On a related note to Stefan's request about Dashboard designs getting targeted to various screens, here is what is coming in 5.2.1, in just a few short weeks:

  • Making new dashboards will become a truly trivial operation. A new visual Dashboard designer will allow you to more easily see what you're designing at design time.

  • Gadgets will be in a visual catalog and you will be able to drag / drop, size, and set defaults for them visually.

  • Gadgets snap to the screen and to each other to make alignment a cinch. It's all visual and interactive and easy, easy, easy.
You can designate that your end users can build their own and save them for personal use.

  • You can also permit your consumers to make their dashboards. They can start from scratch or clone one off. So they can resize everything to their heart's content. The admin will be able to take a talented consumer's design public with a click.

  • As before, Dashboards travel with them from monitor to monitor, and each user can personalize the gadgets to show their favorite data.

  • A host of new Flex based gadgets will be able to allow metric and strategic analysis, offering gorgeous, smooth animation and dramatic ways to show the inter-relationships of information.

  • Special control gadgets offer ways to turn a preference based Dashboard into an ad hoc query tool, easily.

  • Soon-to-follow releases further on add snap guidelines that let you align objects. These guidelines can also let you place edge lines for different commonly-used screen resolutions. We're also considering ways to stuff more content in a dashboard via various scroll or flip capabilities.

  • There will be other capabilities but these are top-secret. Suffice it to say you'll be impressed.

thanks as always for your feedback and support.
