I'm trying to intergrate the following command into our ETL Tool (SSIS)
edastart.bat -x "EX MEAS_LOADER 21. I can run the bat file just fine sitting on the webfocus server but everytime I run outside of the webfocus server I get tscom300.exe is not a valid Win32 application. Has anyone had any luck intergrating the bat commands?
Thanks

Webfocus version 7.6.2
OS – Windows
Output – HTML, PDF, Active HTML, Excel

I don't believe EDASTART or TSCOM300 are in the system path by default - by design.

You're running on Windows, right? So you will need to either issue a PATH statement or include the BIN folder of the WebFOCUS server in the system path.

I'm passing the full UNC path...

\\servername\driveletter\ibi\64bit\srv76\wfs\bin\edastart.bat

I think the point here is being missed.
When a batch runs in Windows, Windows starts a new command process and uses the currently configured system path to run that command process.
Passing the path when calling the file does not set the system path.
If TSCOM300.EXE is not in a folder in the currently configured system path, you get the error message you are getting.
The answer is either

  • Put a PATH statement in your batch file to include the system path and add the BIN folder with fully qualified path (and any dependencies)
  • Alter the default system path to include the BIN folder with fully qualified path (and any dependencies)

For a list of dependencies I think you'll need to call customer support; don't mention PMF or you'll end up with PMF support. You want support for the WebFOCUS Server on Windows.
