Multi-select in the Edit Owner Access panel
On the Owners tab (Edit Owner Access panel)

My client needs to be able to multi-select from the drop-down dimensions in the Edit Owner Access panel. e.g. select Location EAST and NORTH. This seems to be a very reasonable request.

An alternative to this would be to assign multiple access roles to the user. (Which would also require a multi-select box.)

I cant find a work-around within the product. The only thing I could do is fiddle with the dimensions (i.e. make EAST and NORTH into one dimension 'NORTH-EAST', or add an additional intermediate level). Which is all very messy.

Do you have a solution or a work-around? Is it in the planning to implement this?

There's doc on using the security exit in PMF for Row Level Security to get what you want on page 66 of the PMF developer's Guide. You can filter on multiple row level values by adding a little code to a security exit file built into PMF. This file should be placed in PMFCUSTOM after you've changed it, so that it doesn't get overwritten on an upgrade.

There's a link in the doc posting at the top of this forum (PMF: Support Books available for your use) to show you how to download the Dev Guide.

As for adding multi-select to the UI, we get this request once every couple years. Since this is an admin function and rarely used (our experience this is usually needed for maybe one or two exceptional users at exceptional sites), we haven't coded this rather extensive UI change; since we tend to work on capabilities that confer a large advantage to customers over those that can be tweaked in 5 minutes, we probably won't get to this for some time.

If your mileage varies so that this is a critical need somehow, please detail.

thanks!
