I am working on a metric for G&A. I use scorecard security. I would like to be able to start at G&A at a summary level showing the expenses as a percent of revenue. As a user drills into specific departments within G&A it should show their rate as a percent of G&A. With Scorecard security I know it is supposed to filter to the section. It does not seem to work like this however. When I am looking at the metric it is odd to me that I don't see a dimension link for business segment, which is probably because one of my values does not use dimension. The G&A expenses is using a data source with time and business segment. The monthly revenue comes from a source that only uses time dimension. It does appear to change as I change where denominator comes from. How is anyone else doing this metric? Do I really need to calculate for each department?

If you want the filter at a particular level for a gadget, if you choose at that level in the grouping preferences for the gadget, it is supposed to remember that level.

If you want this to be just for you, just pick preferences for gadget at runtime.

If you want this to be for everyone, pick it at design-time by choosing the gadget preferences while in the dashboard editor.
