Very suddenly I started getting an error when previewing a measure load:

If I try to load the measure, it says ***EXEC error. Failure retrieving New Measures.

Viewing source on the EXEC error, I get a few of these messages:

*** Database error. Failure doing COMMIT TRANSACTION." ;

My dba assures me the datamart permissions are fine. I have rebooted tomcat and the WF client.

Please advise.

Did you read the error messages you are getting? If you are holding a file with computations, you might try SET HOLDLIST=PRINTONLY

If you are extracting data from the initial table, you are not using enough of the actual fieldname for WebFOCUS to recognise which field you are wanting

We can't simply reset this variable. We had other issues when this was set to PRINTONLY.
It was causing other functionality to fail within PMF.

The DEFAULT out of the box is ALL and thats what it has been set to.

Are there reserved characters in the load file? The truncation may be caused by reserved characters in one of the fields being loaded. I think an error similar to this happened to me when there was an "&" in one of the fields.

Also you may want to chec if the WebFOCUS metadata files change (or path change)?

I verified the data and decided to try and load a table with one record only. I am still getting the same error but now I am convinced their is an environmental issue. I will investigate the app path and more and update the post.

This was a case of the dimension table being truncated.
