Apologies if this has been answered before, we are new to PMF and are only begining to get to grips with it all.

We are strugling to understand how the targets and especially 'percentage reached' elements of PMF work.

Given this example

Dimension is Gender
GENDER_CODE|GENDER_DESCRIPTION

Measure data has the following fields
REPORT_YYYY|REPORT_MM|PERSON_ID|GENDER_CODE|GENDER_RECORDED_YN|DENOMINATOR_COL*

(*Where denominator_col is a default 1 for each row)

When creating the measure, we have linked this to gender dimension using GENDER_CODE.

There are 10 records where 6 female and 4 male.

When setting up the measure,
the ACTUAL = GENDER_RECORDED_YN
the TARGET = DENOMINATOR_COL

When displaying the output through a pie chart, grouped by dimension 'gender', we expect to see Male = 40% and Female = 60%

This is working fine, however the percentage reached is showing 100% for both Male and Female. Which appears to be dividing the actual / actual.

Either that or it is the (Male actual = 4)/ (Male denominator =4) which results in 100%.

Any tips on how we can fix this such that the percentage reached is 4 out of 10 and 6 out of 10?

Thank you.

Percent reached compares actual to target.

If you have a ratio or percent type measure, numerator value and denominator value will of course involve division (constitute a fraction) to ensure aggregation works.

But this is not how percent reached is calculated.

There are many postings about this question here on the forum. Try a search there on 'percent reached' and it will bear much fruit.

thanks!

Hi Bob,
We have opened a case to handle this one as the boys have tried various suggestions after searching on 'percent reached' but to no avail. Here is the link:- https://techsupport.informatio...se.jsp?case=10513517.

Regards,
Ian
