WebFOCUS PMF version 5.1.3 was released to manufacturing Sept 4, 2009 and is now available to customers from the Downloads menu on http://techsupport.ibi.com.

PMF 5.1.3 is a service pack for PMF 5.1.2 and as such replaces it. It has an identical feature set to version 5.1.2.

The major highlights for V5 are:

  • National Language Version support for French, German, Spanish, and Japanese
  • Vastly improved performance, user management, and dashboard experience
  • More gadgets, more industry content
  • Sophisticated new capabilities including alternate targets, dimensional tolerances and weighting
  • Scorecard-level access control
  • PMX edition for OEM and embedded use in re-branded applications

In addition PMF 5.1.3 now fixes the following recognized product issues:

  • (50962507) ActiveReports not working.
  • (50752533) Problem using the Dimensional Tolerances form
  • (51632540) Problem with user sync from MRE
  • (51662516) Reporting Server Agent pooling caused the translog filedef to be dropped from the session.
  • (50992543) Visual Discovery not working – hanging in some cases.
  • (50062536) Problem opening scheduled report in IE6. Feature changed to send a static PDF report.
  • (51742538, 41992522) Unable to restore snapshot and resync PMF on Oracle.
  • (52302549) Performance issue – slow 64 bit Unix adapter causing slow response time on reports.
  • (51272548) Oracle DDLs and internal code not working with PMF V5. Needed for re-install and upgrade.
  • (52052536, 50782001) Problems running Alert Wizard
  • (50762015) Red indicator issue – large negative numbers
  • (51242511) Scheduler issue – Dim and Measure loads
  • Problem running the Scorecard Dimension Breakout Rpt - LHS should report on Current Period’s info
  • Problem with Ratio type measures.
  • Dimension field in Measure panel didn’t allow more than 8 linked dimensions – should allow 16.
  • PMF multi-drills not working properly in WebFOCUS 7.6.9
  • Problem in resynch if Dimension levels were switched after a save
  • Resync leaving spaces in ACTUAL & USAGE formats in TIME MFD
  • Administration Console – menu item looked compressed with some Web servers.
  • Unable to restore a Snapshot from SQL Server to Oracle data mart.
  • Some Measure Entry saves received a communications failure
  • Strategy Map – could not remove a Theme as well as link one
  • (50962507) ActiveReports not working.
  • Allow creating a Dimension table in DB2
  • Rogue sorting by Theme when not wanted
  • Issue where a non-"Administrato" ID could not create a Scorecard even when it had Admin Functional Access on Scorecards
  • (50992543) Visual Discovery not working – hanging in some cases.
  • Measure panel – cannot save decimal portion of tolerances if they are negative.
  • Oracle DDLs and internal code for Oracle needed additional changes.
  • (50782001) Dimension loader issue with cardinality fields being zeroed – causes reporting issue.
  • (51052005) Better handling of left-hand offset differences between Oval and Rectangle Strategy Maps (issue affected Executive Briefing Booklet – PDF)

V5.1.3 is certified with WF 7.6.7 and above.

The PMF Installer will automatically upgrade PMF to the latest version without requiring a manual uninstall as was required in previous releases. You can simply re-run the PMF installer
to upgrade your installation.

Notes:
1. If you are working with a V4 or earlier data mart, you must migrate the PMF data mart manually to the V5 level. However, from V5 onward, migrations are autonomic - when the Administrator starts PMF, the application will detect and allow the administrator to automatically migrate the currently data mart by choice. PMF 5.1.3 will only work on that mart after it is upgraded. Upgrades are safe; however please always back up any mart before migrating it.

2. If you are migrating from PMF 5.1.1 or earlier, and any of your scorecards have rectangle shaped Objectives on the Strategy Map, since PMF now aligns rectangle and elliptical shaped Objectives the same, after completing the migration to 5.1.3 you will need to perform a one-time readjustment for the left-side positions of your rectangles. This should take you only a moment.

3. If you have PMF installed in a multi-tier configuration, please remember to run the installation separately for your Web server and WebFOCUS server boxes.

We have version 5.1.4, so I assume that we don't need the service pack?
