Anyone has an example or link to document to show Chaining the controls in WebFOCUS Designer? I understand it can be done if the metadata has Hierarchy setup. This message has been edited. Last edited by: FP Mod Chuck,
I could not find any doc yet but will work on that. However I created a report with two filters of fields that have the hierarchy defined in the master file. When I was in designer and created a page and dragged that report into a panel it detected the filters and when I ran it an selected the first filter the second filter was automatically filtered the the appropriate values.
Thank you for using Focal Point!

Hi Vaayu,
Information about chaining filters on a page created in Designer, can be found in the Choosing an Event Model for Your Page Filter topic. Specifically, you can use the How to Use On-selection Change Filters procedure. Here is a direct link to the topic: https://kb.informationbuilders...del-your-page-filter
The “WITHIN keyword” mentioned in the topic is an attribute that is part of the syntax for a WHERE filter. It specifies which parameters in a chart or report to chain together. This attribute is added automatically for fields within the same hierarchy in your Master File, so those parameters will be chained when you add filters for them to a page.
If you are looking for any additional information or support, just let us know.

Thank you for your response. Would there be any metadata in WFRetail folder so I can test this?
