[CLOSED]Designer grid - object sizing
This probably comes under the area of new feature request but we thought we would bring it up here anyway.

We would like to have more granular control over the height and width of the objects(charts,reports) we drag onto the design grid. The current interval appears to be fixed at about 83px between sizes, we would like something smaller. We attempted to identify any css and javascript that we may be able to tweak to give us finer control over sizes but have not succeeded yet. Any ideas?

Hi Mcarey

I have asked product management to review this request. I think this will be a new feature request but they will provide you some guidance.

Hi Mcarey,

Were you trying to adjust the space between content items, or were you looking for more granular sizing options? For the former, you can select the entire page by clicking the page toolbar, then select the style tab and change the value for the Margin property. For the latter, one option is to use the JavaScript section level addContainer method, and then specify more incremental column width and height values by using decimal column and row values, for example:
var simplePanel = section.addContainer("panel", "Simple Panel - Javascript", 0, 0, 2.4, 5.6).ibaObject;
You can find information about the Designer JavaScript API is available here: https://kb.informationbuilders...vascript-api-classes, and would just need to remember to align all panels with each other. Also note that responsive folding will change the width of each item.
If you have any additional questions, and would like to connect, just let us know.
