Graph Legend Border
Anyone know how to put a border, such as a box, around a graph legend?

Version 5.3.2 with the Old Graph Engine...

Prarie22, as far as I know, it has to be done in the advanced editor.

If you are creating the graphs using Dev Studio you will see the "Edit" button. Once in there, highlight the Legend and you'll see a button in the upper right. Click it to reveal the advanced functions (where you'll find Lines and Colors).

You may have limited success this route.

The perspective for Java method call to show a border (black):
setTransparentBorderColor(getLegendArea(),false);

You may also want to play with:
setBorderColor(getLegendArea(),new Color(255,0,0));
(to make the legend box border red, for instance)

Thanks...I tried the last suggetion...and that worked...but the Box is over lapping the Graph...how do I make the Legend smaller...guess it was too close to begin with.

You do something like this:
setRect(getLegendArea(),new Rectangle(9921,-7020,6040,15800));
where the first 2 values are some kind of x, y coordinates, and the last 2 are width and height of the box.
If you can get into the Graph Editor (as mentioned by Denver RSE) it is easier to find the right values to use (other than trial and error). I know in the version we are using (5.21) you can not always get into the editor. You might want to download the "Perspective for Java" manual. (Not easy to find things in it though)

Hi Prarie22,

As always this is a great forum to get the information you need. In case you need something a little more recent, we updated the "Perspective for Java Programmer's Manual" (DN2100945.0901) for version 5.3. It's now called "WebFOCUS Graphics 5.3" (DN4500605.0904).

Thanks to everyone for your help. I will review the documentation suggested. I need a good cheat sheet.

I don't call 1347 pages a cheat sheet
