I am trying to create a PDF report with Fixed Column Widths. When I right click on the field, the Fixed Column Width is disabled. What turns on/off this option. I have tried it with the car file and I can't get it to turn on.

Jay,

Right-click on the field and click on 'Options...'. After that, on the tab 'Style', see 'Column Layout' and select for example 'Truncate'. Now you will notice that the option will not be grayed out any longer...

I figured out my problem, because I have a complicated report that has multiple line headings, footers, subheads and subfoots. I was trying to use width command on the data line, when I should have used the squeeze command on the report line.
