Hello

I am new to WF 8.
Can anyone please provide working examples of WebFOCUS 8 Interactive or animated graphs with CAR or any similar library databases?
Or please provide a URL to examples.

Also, client is asking for this functionality. Assume there is a line graph with 8 series. He wants an option to select/de-select few series from the legend and graph should refresh itself showing only those series selected. I have seen similar functionality with Highcharts. But is it possible out of box with WebFOCUS 7 or 8?

Thank you.

Hi,

As per your client, you can tell them about InfoDiscovery , where you can give them their desire features.
"an option to select/de-select few series from the legend and graph should refresh itself showing only those series selected."

Basically, this feature is called as LASSO feature.

Thanks

You can exclude columns when you create a graph from an active report (refresh issue in some versions) by clicking on them and choosing "exclude from graph" in the options.

Also, if you use Active Reports as your output when creating a graph you can lasso in on a subset of data and filter the results that way.

We don't have license for InfoAssist etc.
When I just develop graph from App Studio, does HTML5 provides animations? I mean animations like raising bars and moving lines that happens in Active graphs? I would appreciate if any code is provided with a CAR file for an animated graph. Thanks

This is a basic out of the box graph using car. The JSCHART Format is what will provide HTML5 output with animations. This is the most basic using the GUI.

ENGINE INT CACHE SET ON
-DEFAULTH &WF_STYLE_UNITS='PIXELS';
-DEFAULTH &WF_STYLE_HEIGHT='405.0';
-DEFAULTH &WF_STYLE_WIDTH='770.0';
-DEFAULTH &WF_TITLE='WebFOCUS Report';
GRAPH FILE CAR
SUM CAR.BODY.SALES
BY CAR.ORIGIN.COUNTRY
ON GRAPH PCHOLD FORMAT JSCHART
ON GRAPH SET VZERO OFF
ON GRAPH SET HTMLENCODE ON
ON GRAPH SET GRAPHDEFAULT OFF
ON GRAPH SET UNITS &WF_STYLE_UNITS
ON GRAPH SET HAXIS &WF_STYLE_WIDTH
ON GRAPH SET VAXIS &WF_STYLE_HEIGHT
ON GRAPH SET GRMERGE ADVANCED
ON GRAPH SET GRMULTIGRAPH 0
ON GRAPH SET GRLEGEND 0
ON GRAPH SET GRXAXIS 1
ON GRAPH SET LOOKGRAPH VBAR
ON GRAPH SET AUTOFIT ON
ON GRAPH SET STYLE *
*GRAPH_SCRIPT
setPieDepth(0);
setPieTilt(0);
setDepthRadius(0);
setCurveFitEquationDisplay(false);
setPlace(true);
*END
INCLUDE=IBFS:/FILE/IBI_HTML_DIR/javaassist/intl/EN/ENIADefault_combine.sty,$
TYPE=REPORT, TITLETEXT=&WF_TITLE.QUOTEDSTRING, PAGESIZE=TABLOID, $
*GRAPH_SCRIPT
setReportParsingErrors(false);
setSelectionEnableMove(false);
*END
ENDSTYLE
END
-RUN

As for being able to select what series you want to add, you can use variables for that and create checkboxes in your HTML that will then pass the variables to use to your fex.
