[SOLVED] Advanced Merge Graph: Change Group Label for each different graph

I have an advanced merge bar graph that has been homgenized to produce 10 bars for each graph in the report. In actuality, each bar in the graph needs to be labeled differently. For instance, bar 1 in graph 1 would be called 'Sally' and bar 1 in graph 2 would be called 'Fred' etc.

I have spent quite a bit of time searching the Forum and the IBI site on the setGroupLabelArray command which I was sure would solve my problem. But it did not.

I can see the matrix of values in my mind but don't know the appropriate API syntax to make it work. And maybe I can't.

Here is some code from the car file that I've been playing with:
-* File graphtitle.fex
GRAPH FILE CAR
-* Created by Advanced Graph Assistant
SUM CAR.BODY.SALES
BY CAR.ORIGIN.COUNTRY
BY CAR.BODY.BODYTYPE
WHERE SALES NE 0
ON GRAPH PCHOLD FORMAT PNG
ON GRAPH SET GRAPHDEFAULT OFF
ON GRAPH SET VZERO OFF
ON GRAPH SET HTMLENCODE ON
ON GRAPH SET HAXIS 770
ON GRAPH SET VAXIS 405
ON GRAPH SET UNITS PIXELS
ON GRAPH SET LOOKGRAPH VBAR
ON GRAPH SET GRMERGE ADVANCED
ON GRAPH SET GRMULTIGRAPH 1
ON GRAPH SET GRLEGEND 0
ON GRAPH SET GRXAXIS 1
ON GRAPH SET GRAPHSTYLE *
setTemplateFile("/images/tdg/template/IBISouthWestern.txt");
setReportParsingErrors(false);
setSelectionEnableMove(false);
setTransparentBorderColor(getChartBackground(),true);
setTransparentBorderColor(getSeries(0),true);
setTransparentBorderColor(getSeries(1),true);
setTransparentBorderColor(getSeries(2),true);
setTransparentBorderColor(getSeries(3),true);
setTransparentBorderColor(getSeries(4),true);
setTransparentBorderColor(getSeries(5),true);
setTransparentBorderColor(getSeries(6),true);
setTransparentBorderColor(getSeries(7),true);
setTransparentBorderColor(getSeries(8),true);
setTransparentBorderColor(getSeries(9),true);
setTransparentBorderColor(getSeries(10),true);
setPlace(true);
setDepthRadius(0);
setDepthAngle(0);
-*setGroupLabel(0,"SERIES 1");
setGroupLabelArray("GROUP 1","GROUP 2","GROUP 3","GROUP 4");
-*setSeriesLabelArray("SERIES 1","SERIES 2","SERIES 3","SERIES 4");
ENDSTYLE
END
The goal is to have every bar on each graph have a different label.

Any ideas?

Hi Ginny,

For each Graph, the GroupLabel resets itself. Need to extract for each BY column, and do ASNAMES, then MORE the data back together.

Painful!

Thanks, Tom. I think it will be easier to do the graphs separately and use DM to set the group labels. That I know how to do. I think it will be about the same amount of work.
