Hi All,
I want to store the SQL sting in a varaibale during execution .Can anyone help me in this.
-SET &VAR1= 'SELECT COMPANY,
SALARY,
F_NAME
FROM TABLE A ;'

-TYPE &VAR1.EVAL
-EXIT

Any help would be appreciated .

You are going to have to hold the file and do a -READ. Do a search on the forum for -READ and SQL...you will get examples.

Why do you require the line feeds within the SELECT? You can just place the SQL in your var as you have it (without line feeds) and then just use it -
-SET &VAR1= 'SELECT COMPANY, SALARY, F_NAME FROM TABLE A ;'
SQL SQLMSS (etc.)
&VAR1.EVAL
TABLE FILE SQLOUT
PRINT *
END
