5.2.5

I've checked internally and this issue has only every been reported on version 5.2.x. and not very often.

the reason it happens in 5.2.x is

quote:
OLAP calls itself like a proxy. This will not be the case in WebFOCUS release 5.3.

It invariably appears to be linked to security/configuration issues on the Web / Application server
and is because the application server is unable talk to its self.

Possibly the system does not know its own IP address for loopback purposes.

You need to have your Web /spplication server admin make sure that the machine knows both it's internal and external
IP address's

Alternativly upgrade, 5.2.5 is really quite old and was Functionally Stabilized May 31, 2007

Thanks You very much. That was informative.

Due to some internal issue we are not able to upgrade it.

Can you please explain on what you mean by "making the machine knows both it's internal and external IP address's". Does this mean adding the the application server and web server details to the corresponding hosts file.

I think that depends on the particular Web / Application server you are running and the operating system.

If you can log on to the Unix system try to ping the name associated with the WebFOCUS server.
If that does not work add the IP address and name to the hosts file, this may resolve the problem.

Alternatively all I can find is a Windows resolution, which your Unix systems guys may be able to convert into Unix speak.

The following are the steps necessary to add the Microsoft Loopback device:
Manual Installation
1. Click START, point to SETTINGS, click CONTROL PANEL, and then double-click
ADD/REMOVE HARDWARE.
2. Click ADD/TROUBLESHOOT a device, and then click NEXT.
3. Click ADD a new device, and then click NEXT.
4. Click NO, we want to select the hardware from a list, and then click NEXT.
5. Click NETWORK ADAPTERS, and then click NEXT.
6. In the Manufacturers box, click MICROSOFT.
7. In the Network Adapter box, click MICROSOFT LOOPBACK ADAPTER, and then
click NEXT.
8. Click FINISH.

I have checked the server. And it seams we have the host file and the loopback properly configured.

But as i could remember we had changed the domain of the server, probably that is affecting this. I am just guessing.

At some times it is showing error as "Internal Error" without displaying any other code part.
