If the slicer is from an HTML page

An option is to have 4 slicers : one for each choices and then show/hide the proper one according to selection made.

Another option (which seems to be the best one) is to have the slicer linked (parameterized) to the choices list and have a dynamic fex to fill its value based on the received parameter.

But as for be able to select a from/to period I don't think that it's possible from a single slicer. You may need to have two slicers : one for the "from" value and a second for the "to".

You could certainly create the basics for those controls using HTML Composer; you'd need 2 hidden fields for start and end dates and a control that contains something like the valid values in the selected granularity (quarters, months, days, etc).
Add some Javascript and CSS and, in theory at least, it should be possible to create such a control.

What I'm missing in the example image though is how they determine the range where the control starts and ends. I guess there's some fuzzy logic behind it all that also determines that "Days" is not a useful option to show for a range of 10 years and "Years" is not a useful option for a range of just a couple of days.
