Please post your code between the code tags.

I would suggest creating a key to force the sort to the way you want it.

Hi,

For PDF label order, try adding MATRIXORDER=HORIZONTAL in stylesheet (VERTICAL is the default).

As Waz said, for HTML pagematrix you might need to create sortfield(s) to make the report appear the way you want.

Cheers,
Mika

Here is an old solution. It still works.

For row labels:

-SET &COL=3;
TABLE FILE CAR
LIST MPG
ON TABLE HOLD
END
-RUN
DEFINE FILE HOLD
RR/I5=(LIST - 1) / &COL;
CC/I5=LIST - 1 - RR*&COL;
END
TABLE FILE HOLD
SUM MPG
BY RR NOPRINT
ACROSS CC NOPRINT
END

For column labels:
TABLE FILE CAR
LIST MPG
ON TABLE HOLD
END
-RUN
-SET &NN=&LINES;
-SET &COL=3;
-SET &ROW=&NN / &COL;

DEFINE FILE HOLD
CC/I5=(LIST - 1) / &ROW;
RR/I5=LIST - 1 - CC*&ROW;
END
TABLE FILE HOLD
SUM MPG
BY RR NOPRINT
ACROSS CC NOPRINT
END
