Maintain- Report hangs
I used Web link in the Frame to show my report out put. In the welcomeform, i have show report button. when I click the report button ,it shows my report output. But some how it is taking longer time to give output. I am using this link to launch my maintain application "http://server/approot/ibisamp/wfmstart.html". I appreciate any thoughts to refresh the report ... also I used OLAP in my report..

If you run the report outside of Maintain does it take less time than if you run from inside Maintain? Also if you don't use a frame to display the report (Open in new Window) does it take less time? What format are you using to display the report? I find that if I am using PDF or EXCEL, the first time I run the report takes longer to display.

Mark,
Thanks for you quick reply, Yes, it takes less time if run my report outside of maintain. I tried display the report (open in new window) that one also takes longer time so i switched to frame. I am using HTML format. Just like you said it is happening first time when I test my application in the morning .

Thank you
Vijaya

I am honestly not sure what is being loaded and initialized the first time the reports are run. All I can recommend is maybe kick off a test case before the actual application runs to get the loading out of the way. I have not found and good way around this.

Since your report is creating a new, separate, agent, perhaps it is a server load issue.

Is the same server running both your reporting and maintain programs ? Maybe it needs some tuning, or more horsepower

A solution to this problem is to use the COMMIT; command after any include, update, or delete in Maintain. I'm not sure if this problem is specific to SQL or not, but it did solve this problem.
