We recently upgraded to Webfocus 5.3.2 and ran into an issue with opening pdf reports. The pdf is correctly generated and saved to disk but when the brower redirects to display the report, the report doesn't display. All that shows in the browser is "You are not allowed to access this viewer file.". We can see the pdf report on our local disk along with another pdf file that appears to be a webfocus informational file. It is our view that the webfocus server is trying to open the informational pdf instead of the correct report pdf.

We have contacted IBI on this issue and they suggested a workaround which was to change the setting in the mime file to tell webfocus to Not redirect on PDFs. This fixed the original issue but introduced another issue when pulling up excel (we had to change the mime file for excel because we were seeing the original error in excel also). It does not refresh and pull in a new excel report unless you close your browser windows and no previous excels are displayed.

Has anyone else come across this issue?

Pam, I have come across something like this in the past (not the same, but close). Check that the Web Server userid has read privilages to the directory and the .pdf files.
