[CLOSED]GUI parameter screen built in Dev Studio v7.7.03 does not work in 8.0.08/IE11

We have many parameter screens that were built using HTML Composer v7.7.03. They worked in WF 7.7.03 and v7.7.05 and v8.0.08 and IE 9.

We have upgraded to IE 11. Some of the parameter screens that use Output Format images do not display the images. The solution to this seems to be: Open the file in Dev Studio v8.0.08 HTML Composer and then Save - don't do anything else.

This corrects the image problem, but now clicking the Calendar icon does nothing - the Calendar does not pop-up.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Hi Francis,
Need to have it turned ON. These are the instructions we gave our users:

Should you encounter any compatibility problems within IE you can:

• Select Tools from the file menu or click on the Settings "gear" icon in the top right corner of IE 11.
• Select the Compatibility View settings item in the drop-down menu. A dialog will appear.
• Enter the site you wish to load with Compatibility View in the Add this website field and click Add (e.g., XXXXXXX.edu).
• Click Close to exit the Compatibility View Settings window.

DANG! Now, can't get into Tech Support, requires an ID and password. Since I have more than 3, no clue what it is anymore...
Was checking on their browser support, which, SHOULD BE a sticky at the top!!!
Do not know if IBI has validated the support of IE11.
My forms use the IBI calendar, is that what you are using?

Good Morning Francis,
OK, finally got into Tech Support.
IBI converts IE11 to IE9 for HTML Composer pages.

Her's the Link

Hope you can get in...
Tom

BTW, we tell all our users to login via Chrome. Mac users use Safari...

WF 8.0.08 is not supported on IE11, which means there's no point contacting Tech Support.

The only other discussions I've found that are related to IE11 issues are

WebFOCUS HTML Page in IE11

JS error in IE, works in Viewer

Based on what I've read, and what I've suggested to other people, I might as well resort to my favourite activity and code, code, code instead of GUI, GUI, GUI. We are three developers and have realized there seems to be no point to wrestle with the GUI when things can get done a lot faster with code.

Thank you very much.

Hi Francis

Make sure that the procedures are referenced correctly and you may want to bring the procedures in in 8008 again to make sure all is correct. But also use Chrome to test the page (if Chrome works and IE does not then you know the problem). In WebFOCUS 8201, App Studio should be compliant with IE11 framework when it comes out. The other thing that you can do is change the JavaScript code to IbComposer commands or just strip out the JavaScript in a copy of the HTML to test. I worked thru a lot of issues with the conversion so just double check the obvious. Good luck...

Thanks Barry

I agree with you Francis. Coding is best. I have spent months converting our reports from WF7 to WF8. Most of the html pages have issues in WF8 and I have had to recreate several. I do 90% of my work in code not the GUI. Lucky for you to have 3 coders, it's just me here! Best of luck!
