I have a Compound report.the top section has summary information and the middle and bottom section has an undetermined number of detail rows. the number and width of columns in the middle and bottom sections vary.

it would be similar to the following car file reports but i need to have all the information for each car maker on page together (instead of having all of the car makers for report1 and then all of the car makers for report2).

TABLE FILE CAR
SUM
SALES
BY COUNTRY
BY CAR
ON CAR PAGE-BREAK
END

TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT
SEATS
LENGTH
BY COUNTRY
BY CAR
BY MODEL
ON CAR PAGE-BREAK
END

I tried a macguyver type solution but could noty implement variable width columns for the two reports using stylesheet with WIDTH and WHEN.

one more thing, DM looping is not an option because of the large amount of data.

Check out doing a coordinated compound report. It will 'group' the reports by high order sort key.
