I have a compound report that has one of the columns overflowing onto multiple pages. I want to put "Page X of X" on each page.

If I try:

PAGELAYOUT=1, NAME='Page Master 1' ......
OBJECT=STRING, POSITION=(6.5 9.0), MARKUP=ON, TEXT='<font face="Arial" size=7> Page <ibi-page-number/> of <ibi-total-pages/> </font> ', WRAP=ON, DIMENSION=(4 4),$
COMPONENT='DfltCmpt1', ........
COMPONENT='report1', ....
PAGELAYOUT=ALL, NAME='Page Master 1' ......
OBJECT=STRING, POSITION=(6.5 9.0), MARKUP=ON, TEXT='<font face="Arial" size=7> Page <ibi-page-number/> of <ibi-total-pages/> </font> ', WRAP=ON, DIMENSION=(4 4),$

It calculates the number of pages that will be displayed and puts "Page 1 of 5" on the first page only (this test will be 5 pages long based on the data but could be anywhere from 1 to X pages). But is displays nothing on subsequent pages.

If I put the PAGELAYOUT=ALL command BEFORE the PAGELAYOUT=1 command I get an error saying "This file cannot be opened because it has no pages".

Any suggestions?

I have read many posts about page numbers on compopund and overflow reports and it looks like this may not be possible. Just checking for sure.

NOTE: The large "PAGE OF" did not correctly display the ibi-page-number and ibi-total-pages names. I guess the forum converted them somehow. Sorry

If you post code between code tags (use the </> button) the code won't get converted.
