I just started working in a place where someone had installed webfocus on an AIX server as root. Now files generated by people using this server come out owned by root:system. They tell me that webfocus support told them this is happening because it was installed by root and the only way to solve it is to reinstall webfocus.

Has anyone else run into this and is a complete reinstall truly the only solution?

Yes, I know, it was obviously a mistake, but it is true that a reinstall is the only way?
