NO HTML OUTPUT - SQL FETCH ERROR
Hi,
We are using SQL server 2005 as database, we are using the Microsoft JDBC driver 1.2 for connection. We are running 15 reports (quite complex). whenever we are executing multiple reports (parallely) we get this error-
NO HTML OUTPUT
(FOC1400) SQLCODE IS -1 (HEX: FFFFFFFF) XOPEN: 00000
: Other Exception: null
(FOC1407) SQL FETCH CURSOR
ERROR. :
whenever we run the program individually it works with less data. Also when huge data is being (approx 1 million and more) retrived then also we got the same error.

Any guess what can be the issue?

We wrote the program such a way that all the needed columns with grouping and filtering are reteived from db first, then we do all the needed calculation in webfocus.

The query created by webfocus, is getting executed in the sql server client without any issues.

Is there be any problem in jdbc connection, where we need to mention anything for retrieving more records or processing multiple request?

Any previous forum discussion or your suggestion is appreciated

Actually, I would check to see what was going on in SQL Server first. Can you take the generated SQL and run it successfully in an SQL Server tool? Is there a concept such as spool or workspace in SQL Server. We often run into spool space issues in Teradata when a query is trying to retrieve too much data.

You are getting an SQL error code so I think that is where you need to start looking.

My rule for using RDBMS sources -

Get the RDBMS to do as much of the work for you!! Especially sorts and column manipulation.

By doing this you will return the smallest resultset required for your final report output and WF will be able to do what it does best - create your styled report output.

This is an extension of the general rule - Use the best tool for the job in hand!
