Hi,

I have had some issues with a few items, but I have looked at other posts and simply cannot figure out why this instance is not working. Information as to why it's not working would be helpful as well as the code error I have.

I have tried using the HTML version of COLSPAN, which works to separate the headers and provide boarders over the appropriate rows, but then I can't center the information which is the ultimate goal. Code is as follows:

 TYPE=SUBHEAD, LINE=1 OBJECT=TEXT, ITEM=1, POSITION=N3, $
TYPE=SUBHEAD, LINE=1 OBJECT=TEXT, ITEM=2, POSITION=N4, $
TYPE=SUBHEAD, LINE=1 OBJECT=TEXT, ITEM=3, POSITION=N5, COLSPAN=12, JUSTIFY=CENTER, BORDER-LEFT=LIGHT, BORDER-RIGHT=LIGHT, BORDER-TOP=LIGHT, $
TYPE=SUBHEAD, LINE=1 OBJECT=TEXT, ITEM=4, POSITION=N17, $
TYPE=SUBHEAD, LINE=1 OBJECT=TEXT, ITEM=5, POSITION=N18, COLSPAN=14, BORDER-LEFT=LIGHT, BORDER-RIGHT=LIGHT, BORDER-TOP=LIGHT, JUSTIFY=CENTER,$

Please assist in getting either of these options to work.

In addition, the report above is Repeats the CUSTOM_BL line, as such:

BL1 | RAS 1
BL1 | RAS 2
BL2 | RAS 3
BL3 | RAS 4

Desired output would be the following:

BL1 | RAS 1
| RAS 2
BL2 | RAS 3
BL3 | RAS 4

Thank you in advance.

Hello drPib81

Welcome to Focal Point!

While we wait for others to assist with this question here is a link to the Technical Support Technical Content library:

Technical Content Library

You can choose your version since it is not clear on you signature which version you are using.

Within this link you can find the Reporting Language reference manual.

Your repetition might be due to the BY and the NOPRINT - remove the NOPRINT and see what the results are.

Also, search in the Forum for COLSPAN there are lots of links.

Here is a link using Headalign and colspan :
HEADING data to reflect each sort value per page-break.

Once you have found a resolution please update the subject line with the correct TAG word - found at the following: Tag your topic with keywords

Thank you for participating in the Focal Point Forum.

Hi drPib81,

Your example is a bit convoluted.
Could you try to repro using the CAR or GGSALES or any other supplied file? In that way we could try to help.
