[SOLVED] Printing in Excel
Hi

I have reports where the user is able to select the output format (PDF or Excel). The reports are setup in landscape by default. In PDF the output is fine but in Excel the user had to format before printing. Is there a way to pre-format the report in Excel so all the user has to do is print and not have to format?

Thanks

Not really - that's the way Excel works. The reason you pull it into Excel instead of PDF is usually because you want to do some sort of manipulation. After you're done, you format it the way you want and then print it. If all you want is to print, then don't bother with Excel.

If it's a simple report then the default print settings for Excel will usually suffice. If it contains so many columns that you have to make it landscape, then that's wider than the default Excel setting and you get paging.

About your only option is to create an Excel template that already has all the formatting in it or some sort of macro to auto format and then distribute the report using the template

Thanks Darrin. That is what I thought.
