I have a PDF report where I don't want totals for every column. So, I've added a subfoot with the subtotals for each column I want totalled, then I position the subtotals via the stylesheet. My problem is that there is no line between the bottom of the column and the subtotal, for only the columns that have a subtotal. I would like a nice solid line, but I can figure out how to do this. Can anyone help?

Bob,

If you did this with a subfoot, the solution is simple. Your subfoot can be multiple lines (each encolsed in quotes). Just insert something like this as the first line of the subfoot:

" ____________ ___________ _________"

Getting everything to line up in PDF can be a chore, but if you got your totals to line up with the data, then I reckon you know how to do that.

Bob,

I neglected to mention that <+0 between your underlines will help you line them up. You probably already know that anyway.

I just wanted to let you know that you can specify which fields to SUBTOTAL if you do not want all the numeric fields to be SUBTOTALed.

Try the following example. Notice in the SUBTOTAL statment I listed the fieldnames after the SUBTOTAL keyword for which I would like the SUBTOTAL to be done. Using this technique will also retain the blank line at the end of the column and before the subtotal values line.

TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT RCOST DCOST SALES SEATS LENGTH WIDTH HEIGHT WEIGHT
BY COUNTRY SUBTOTAL RCOST DCOST SALES WEIGHT
BY CAR
BY MODEL
BY BODYTYPE
ON TABLE SET STYLE *
TYPE=REPORT, GRID=OFF,$
ENDSTYLE
END
