What exactly do you mean with accessing oracle with localhost?
Do you have oracle installed on your localhost machine and need to access it with webfocus?
Or is oracle installed somewhere in your enterprise but not on your pc and you need access?

In the first case there should not be any problem accessing it, since the install of the oracle system would also include the client software. If it is the second, then you must install the oracle client software that comes with the oracle install. Only after that part is installed and configured, you can start creating the webfocus connection. Be sure to reboot after installing the oracle client - that way all required software is registered correctly.

You need to have the oracle client installed on your machine. Then you have to configure the reporting server that comes with DS to point to that connection.

If you can't get to Oracle from your machine outside of WebFOCUS, you aren't going to be able to do it from WebFOCUS either.
