[CLOSED] Error Message when RC: COLUMN TRUNCATED BECAUSE WIDTH EXCEEDS MARGINS
Good morning All! I have a compound report that I am trying to distribute through Report Caster. When I run the compound report to view it as a PDF, it runs just fine, however when I run a report caster job to send me the report via email as an attachment, I get the following error log.
why would I be able to view the report just fine in PDF but not distribute it as such in an email?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Here is the error log from report caster.....

Sometime RC is more restrictive then other BI tool.
Do you have in your code :
SET PRINTPLUS = ON
Try by adding the following to your code
SET &ECHO = ALL
<your code that produce de PDF report>
-RUN
-TYPE FocErrNum : &FOCERRNUM
-EXIT
You may then see the Focus error number if it has one. Then adding that error number to : " Administration Console / Configuration / Application Setting / Other / IBI_FOCUS_Warning_Numbers " may resolve the issue.

I added the &ECHO=ALL to the fex that runs the compound report (not the .fex files that make up the compound report) I don't know if that matters or not... anyway here is the error log from reportcaster....
I also added the PRINTPLUS to all my fex files.
Also, when I run the compound report to view it, it still runs fine with no errors.

Hi Manglum
I found the following solution on the techsupport site.
A copy of the stylesheet used for the failing report was picked up via the APPROOT PATH on the WebFOCUS EDASERVER, which was corrupted.
Once this corrupted copy of the stylesheet was removed, the issue was resolved.
This could possibly be causing your problem..
Thank you for using Focal Point!

manglum,
Try the following.... - remove the stylesheet from the report - the easiest way - if using AppStudio or DevStudio - edit the focexec - right mouse click on the focexec - select Edit as text in the popup menu - scroll down the code until you find something similar to - this is a simple example - Select the lines - right mouse click and "add comment"
ON GRAPH SET STYLE *
-* comment out all lines between these 2 lines
ENDSTYLE END
- run the graph to ensure it runs correctly - the graph should run correctly outside of Report Caster first before adding it to a schedule.
Your output from Report Caster is also saying - COLUMN TRUNCATED BECAUSE WIDTH EXCEEDS MARGINS; COLUMN: 24 (and column 28)
See if you can create a graph with less columns - for testing add a filter into the graph.
Since we do not have the graph code it is hard to say what the exact issue is with the above.
Let us know if the graph is running correctly outside of Report Caster.
