I am trying to execute my PL/SQL Package.Procedure from with in Web Focus. I found some code that looks like it might work, but I don't know enough to fill in the values. My package is DB_VAL my procedure is DB_VAL_TEN. I am not sure what goes in the server Set. I tried a few things, but I think there is something I don't know. I tried using the Data Server Name for Web Focus, I tried using my Oracle Adapter name. Both no go.

SQL SQLORA SET SERVER '?????'

SQL SQLORA
EX DB_VAL.DB_VAL_TEN
END

In the end I want to set this up and then schedule the Fex to run monthly.

As I understand it, you can create a master file descriptor on an Oracle stored procedure and access it like any normal table.

One condition is that all the stored procedure parameters are part of the TABLE request as IF/WHERE clauses.

We do something like this in our SAP environment, where we call ABAP procedures.

Hi Wendy

First of all welcome to Focal Point! It is a great place to get answers to your development questions.

I agree with Web5622 on creating a synonym against your Oracle stored procedure it is the simplest way to use them. If you don't choose to use that then the SQL SQLORA SET SERVER command references an adapter connection name to use. If it doesn't exist yet then someone will have to create one. When you exec the SP you will need to provide any parameters it requires as part of the EX statement.

Thank you for using Focal Point!

Thanks for all you help. I got it to work. There were two steps. first I had to grant execute to the Oracle package to the Web Focus user. Then I used this code to run the procedure in the package.

SQL SQLORA EX GOEW01.DB_VAL.DB_VAL_TEN;
-RUN

goew01 is the schema
db_val is the package
db_val_ten is the procedure

This runs the procedure in the package. There is no output needed for Web Focus, so I need to figure out how to change that so it won't generate an output. Then I will schedule this to run.
