Unwanted Frame and other oddities

This isn't a huge problem, but if anyone here can tell me what's going (and maybe how to fix it?) on I'd be extremely grateful.

When I first started writing reports, I would "publish" an HTML page for a FEX, fiddle with it a little bit and shove it out on the dashboard. As time passed, this was no longer sufficient and I started using FEXes that had dynamically created HTML embedded between -HTMLFORM BEGIN/END tags.

After a while I realized there was an couple of unexpected side-effects of the change.

First, when the report was launched, any HTML results would show up inside a frame instead of using the entire page like before.

Second, if the results were in a format that necessitated a download, EXL2K for instance, then when the yellow IE bar is clicked to initiate the download, the launch page would be reloaded instead. If you re-run the report and retry the download from the redisplayed launch page... it works just as it should. This never happened with vanilla HTML launch pages either.

This isn't a show stopper, as the browser settings can be finagled to make it work as before, but the questions remain what has prompted the change in behavior, and what can I do about it?

You may have some target issues and some such. It's difficult to say without the HTML code. Did you create the HTML yourself or did you use HTML Layout Painter. Lots of times HTML Layout Painter restructures your HTML which might be causing your headaches.
