Subject pretty much says it. How do you set a prefix onto a field in your report? The ribbon at the top doesn't offer it, and sometimes the fields show up with it and sometimes they don't. Can someone tell me how I can add a cnt. prefix onto the front of a field I have open in App Studio?

I always do all my stuff in text source code, but I have to teach clients how to do this. It's something that you could punch up in a second in Dev Studio or InfoAssist.

Click on report field, then the "Appearance" tab, then "Aggregation".

The choices will change depending on the field type.

THAAAAANK You!

My end-user had the field set as a By field (now called a Sort Down field) and we were looking under Field for the option. We went to Appearance (which, silly me, I thought it would be about the appearance) and clicked on aggregation and no choices!

I figured out that we needed to clear the Sort Down setting on the field and they magically appeared.

Another way is learning the code. Edit the fex in text editor and you could have put "CNT." in front of the field name. When AppStudio gets confusing, sometimes it is faster coding it manually.
