Trying to open a drill down report in new window as how we use to do in HTML by specifying Target=_BLANK. This one not working in PDF format. Is there anyway we can do this?

This is what IBI documentation says...don't know if there is a trick

You can not drill down from within a PDF file to a new window. This is an
option available only on an HTML file.

I do not believe there is a way to do this. PDF replaces the existing PDF report with the new one.

This thread is over three years old, but I have the same problem.

Has there been any change to make it easier to open a drilldown in a new window than the solution mentioned in 2006?

Thanks!

Not that I'm aware of. It still works the same as years ago. Sorry!

I am having this same problem. However, my colleague is executing the SAME report and his PDF drilldown report opens in a NEW window. He can then close that window and still have access to the main report. I couldn't believe it but it's true. We are both using Explorer as our browser but he has Adobe 7 and I have Adobe 8. If anybody has figured this out please let me know.

Please share the workaround with us as well, because I am also stuck in the similar issue.

I do not know if I am understanding the problem well but to generate PDF, which comes out in a new tab that we can preview or download, we use the COMPOUND.

If you're viewing the PDF report in Adobe Reader, perhaps unchecking the "Open cross-document links in same window" option will work.

I did a test. Windows 10. Internet Explorer 11. WebFOCUS 7.7.05. Adobe Reader XI.

A simple PDF report with drilldowns opens in Adobe Reader. Clicking on a link opens a new web browser window, hence a new PDF report in a new Adobe Reader window.

Adobe Help: Display PDF in browser | Acrobat, Acrobat Reader
