So we are in the middle of upgrading our versions from WF7 to WF8 and noticed that all includes require full path names. Granted any files coming over from the migration tool doesn't require it but the new ones do.

This is very annoying because if you have files several folders deep, you have to write out the full path to it. Is there any way to use relative pathing for includes or is it just the way it is in WF8?

I want to say Yes, it does require full paths. Migrated stuff will work, just be aware if you start moving stuff around, you will break the handles and you will end up having to full path your includes of the migrated stuff.

Tim,

Matt is correct. Relative referencing is not a part of WF8 for -INCLUDE. As long as you do not move the file out of the original WF7 domain, it should function as it originally did. As soon as you move it to a new folder you will need to update the procedure for any code tightening between WF7 and WF8.

If you don't want to type in the full path, log into {server}/ibi_apps and navigate to the item, then right click select properties. You can cut and paste the full path.
